Susannah Murphy is a University Research Lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. Her research interests centre on integrating psychological and neurophysiological accounts of psychiatric disorders. Her translational, experimental medicine research combines psychology, neuroimaging, psychopharmacology and neuroscience to develop and validate novel treatments for depression and anxiety. In collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry, she uses cognitive and neuroimaging biomarkers as proximal intermediate outcomes in order to facilitate early, cost effective decisions about antidepressant drug development.
