Thank you and moving forward
March 13th, 2020
We’re so thrilled that we were able to deliver BBMS to you this year. For those of you that streamed the entire conference all day – thank you! Whereas other conferences have just cancelled or postponed, we wanted to show it is actually possible to go virtual in 12hrs (!).
If you missed BBMS20 for whatever reason, you’re in luck – everything was recorded and will be uploaded to the BBMS website early next week.
If you want to apply to become chair of BBMS 2021 (highly recommended experience!) or if you want to be on committee but not necessarily as chair, please email us to let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you about how to apply.
Please be on the look out for more information about the BBMS Society at University of Cambridge.
Thanks so much once again!
The BBMS 2020 Organising Committee
We are moving BBMS20 Online!
March 12th, 2020
Due to today’s COVID-19 developments, we have decided to hold and record BBMS20 as a virtual conference through the GoBrunch webinar platform. While we are sad that this change is necessary, we also see it as a great opportunity to encourage the use of online platforms that allow intellectual life flourishes when physical meetings are ill-advised for health reasons or to limit the environmental impacts of air travel.
The conference day schedule is slightly modified (see the programme). The conference will go live at 9 am and run until 4.30 pm. Invited speakers will present their talks at time slots allotted below, and attendees will be able to login to the GoBrunch platform and listen to the talks.
We will use the online platform “GoBrunch” (https://gobrunch.com/events/land/42183/) to hold and record the conference. The GoBrunch platform also allows users to submit questions live. For individuals no longer able to watch the talks live, the videos will be posted on our website next week.
Individuals invited to present posters or poster pitches will be given the option to share their posters via the bbmscambridge.com website so they can be viewed by attendees. There will still be voting and prizes for best poster. Poster presenters will receive a separate email regarding this matter.
We know this change may be disappointing, but we are determined to make the best of it! We hope our virtual webinar will allow everyone the opportunity to hear about the exciting work conducted by our speakers.
Thank you for your time,
The BBMS20 Organising Committee

We are monitoring guidance from the University and UK Government regarding Coronavirus measures. As of now, BBMS20 will still go ahead as planned. In an effort to reduce risks during the conference, we would like to inform you of several ‘ground rules’ to follow:
- Please avoid shaking hands where possible – consider ‘elbow bumps’
- Sanitise and/or wash hands frequently. Alcohol-based hand gel will be provided throughout the event.
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing (e.g. use a tissue with proper disposal, or your inner elbow), followed by immediate hand cleansing.
Thank you very much for your attention and compliance, and we look forward to ensuring BBMS20 goes ahead as planned!
Poster submission has now closed. Thank you for all of your submissions.
